THE PROCESSION OF SIMULACRA
The
imitation is on display at all times. Consuming the reproduced
moment is easier and less implicating, than a confrontation with
the real. Video games destroy any sense of and need for originality.
They do not pretend to exist in reality, but rather hope to give
the appearance of reality and confuse players in relation to the
difference. The simulation is preferable and prolific.
It
is possible that the memory of the original
is itself
stamped in the minds of future generations, but from now on
there is no longer any difference: the duplication suffices
to render both artificial11.
